Business Development and Research Intern

This is a fantastic and rare opportunity for anyone looking for an internship within the asset management industry, with excellent potential for progression. As a Business Development and Research Intern you will be joining a growing team in our New York office and you will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, developing relationships with fund managers, and promoting the firm.

Murano is a global leader in capital introduction. We work as a matchmaker between investors and funds, in order to help both sides in the discovery phase of fund selection. Murano is expanding the US team. Murano works with Hedge Funds, Long Only, Real Estate, Infrastructure and other Collective Investment funds in order to identify investors worldwide that would be susceptible to investing in their funds. Many of our clients are prestigious, established names in the industry. Murano speaks with institutional investors all over the globe about their mandates, and are searching for matches between investor requirements and the universe of available funds. We are looking for somebody who can successfully communicate our values and our unique business model, as well as being able to convince the asset management industry that Murano is the right partner in helping them build their business.

Responsibilities
This role is of strategic importance and will support the senior business development team in a range of activities to help manage the sales process with potential new clients. The employee will;

• Develop opportunities through firm leads & through your own research to establish whether or not fund managers may be suitable for the Murano service. This is with the view to ultimately introduce new fund managers to Murano.

• Be an ambassador for the firm and have a thorough knowledge of our service.

• Gather correct contact information and firm details; using access to external data and information sources and an internal CRM.

• Manage email and marketing campaigns or other methods of outreach to potential clients.

• Maintain the internal CRM system.

• Support the business development team in putting together proposals and other supporting documentation.

Candidate Requirements

• Strong written and organizational skills.

• Passion for investing and intellectual curiosity geared toward the fund management industry.

• Demonstrable ability to master difficult concepts quickly and operate in a fast paced environment

• Exceptional relationship and network building skills.
