The Domestic Human Resources Department (Domestic HR) ensures that the organization’s US domestic human resources and facilities management are sufficient to allow the organization to carry out its mission effectively and efficiently. The Domestic HR Department is responsible for the payroll and benefits administration, recruitment, training, benefits and HR compliance of MSF-USA HQ staff and operations.
Project
Under the guidance of the DHR Training Manager, the Training Intern will provide support in designing, developing and evaluating learning programs and initiatives for the MSF-USA staff.
The Training Intern will assist with various office-wide talent and training programs. This position has extensive contact and collaboration with various staff levels, including Managers and Directors. This position offers an opportunity to understand and gain valuable hands on experience with Learning and Development in a nonprofit setting.
Tasks
· Maintain records of the staff’s usage of individual training allowance, including updates to the HQ training scorecard.
· Assist in validating, tracking and capturing employee data in various online learning platforms. Communicate with the staff regularly to provide user access and receive feedback. Run user reports as needed, as directed by the Training Manager.
· Manage content updates on an internal learning portal (MSF Campus). Recommend and implement new features (version upgrades).
· Research and curate learning content for staff and provide recommendations.
· Document, review and organize training systems, materials and supporting documents.
· Contact staff about upcoming training/learning initiatives.
· Assist as needed in training design, delivery, evaluation, logistics preparation, etc.
· Provide support for L&D or General HR duties as needed.
Requirements
- Strong interest in learning and development concepts and theories (adult learning principles, evaluation methods, etc.).
- A working knowledge with all Microsoft Office Suite and the aptitude to learn new software.
- Exceptional written communication and verbal presentation skills.
- Experience, presence, and flexibility to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
- Strong multi-tasking skills.
- Innovative, takes initiative and ability to work independently.
- Detailed oriented and administratively strong.
