Communications and Digital Advocacy Intern (DC)

COMMUNICATIONS AND DIGITAL ADVOCACY INTERN (WASHINGTON, DC)
 
As Human Rights First’s Communications and Digital Advocacy Intern, you will aid the communications team in delivering effective marketing, advocacy, and knowledge-building campaigns on social media, via e-mail, and in the news. You will help the communications team draft engaging content, gain new subscribers to our e-mail lists, and communicate with reporters.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
 
·        Support campaigns on Facebook and Twitter by drafting content, writing blogs, and designing graphics.
·        Compile weekly/monthly press clips
·        Aid with drafting/sending out content via Quorum
·        Work in Google AdWords to create strong advertisements for our areas of work
·        Deliver effective campaigns to increase our number of digital subscribers
·        Help create up-to-date lists of reporters to receive press releases
·        Provide administration support to the team, as needed
 
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 
 
·        Strong writing skills
·        Experience with Twitter & Facebook
·        Digital art/ graphic design experience (Adobe Suite, Canva, Visme, etc…)
·        Video editing skills are a plus
·        Knowledge of the news cycle
 
EDUCATION: Applicants must be undergraduate, graduate, law school students, and/or recent grad students who are currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, an accredited undergraduate school.
PAID/UNPAID INTERNSHIP: Unpaid
START DATE: September 5, 2018
TIME COMMITMENT: Part Time or Full Time
