Human Resources Intern

HUMAN RESOURCES INTERN

Reports to: Human Resource Manager
5-6-month internassignment
Non-exempt – full-time June-Aug; PT Sept-Nov. if in school
$12.00/hour
Flexible weekly work schedule to meet college internship requirements.

POSITION SUMMARY
To assist Human Resources Team with many HR projects as assigned. 
Successful candidates will:
  • Be very detailed-oriented

  • Be effective at problem solving
  • Have good research skills
  • Eager to learn several functional areas of HR 
  • Be experienced on MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Have strong oral and written communication and customer service skills for interacting with employees at all levels throughout the company.

REQUIREMENTS
Enrolled in or recent graduate of four-year degree program in process with a major/minor in Human Resources preferred or Business Administration with coursework in HR desired.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Projects and other activities may include, but not be limited to, the following:
  • Respond to employee questions, concerns and issues and/or direct them to the correct department contact in a timely, accurate and confidential manner.
  • Assist with recruitment process (job postings and following up with the hiring manager).
  • Manage and track open positions.  Post positions and maintain changes to the applicant tracking system.
  • Review, edit, update job descriptions as necessary.
  • Scanning documents for paperless systems.
  • Organize and update Employee list.
  • Assist with maintaining Excel spreadsheets for project analyses.
  • Data entry into HR systems.
  • All other projects, duties as assigned.
